Caregiver Programs

We lead workshops for parents and caregivers about how to talk to kids of all ages about a variety of consent, gender, and sexuality topics. We work with schools and organizations, and also with self-organized groups of caregivers.

Check out our most commonly requested caregiver workshops below. We also create custom offerings based on your interests.

We can provide all programming in English or Spanish!

It’s never too early to start building consent culture with your kids! Join YES! for an interactive workshop that will teach you how to do just that. Caregivers will reflect on the messages they got as children about their bodily autonomy and identify the values they want to communicate to their own kids. We will discuss best practices for building consent culture at home, and then practice identifying and utilizing teachable moments

When is the right time to start talking to kids about their bodies? The answer is: now! This workshop will help parents and caregivers figure out how to approach the tricky subject of sexuality. Together we’ll explore any discomfort that we as adults feel about this topic. We’ll examine our own values and goals, and then we’ll delve into the details: how to communicate effectively, how to be inclusive, how to encourage consent culture, and more! We’ll end by talking about how to use teachable moments as a more effective alternative to “the talk.”

Research shows us that kids develop a sense of their own gender between the ages of 2 and 5 – they deserve to do this exploration in a safe, affirming, and open space that allows them to be their full

authentic selves. This workshop will support parents and caregivers in examining their own values about gender, learning best practices for breaking down the gender binary and giving kids access to the full range of human experience, and practice responding to real-life scenarios.

We live in a world that makes it really hard to love and appreciate our own unique bodies or to develop a positive relationship with food. This workshop will support parents and caregivers in reflecting on their own food and body values, learning best practices for supporting kids’ relationships with their bodies and food, and practice responding to real-life scenarios.
